Samus' Training Ch 1
Before the Storm

(Samus' POV)

"...I... I'll do whatever you want of me..."
That was it; it had been done... A simple phrase sealed my fate forever. I stood before Prime; the being that had made my life a living hell... Only moments ago, I had surrendered to him in exchange for his teachings, the ability to control the phazon writhing inside me. I immediately knew I would regret it; but it was all I could do... It's so ironic that after all that had happened, he was the only one who I could go to... The only one I could trust. I felt like I was going to be sick realizing all of this... My entire world, my entire life even, had been turned upside down.
And how was this answered? What response did Prime give for my soul-shattering choice? Practically nothing... He just laid his hand on my head and told me:
"Good choice woman..."
Just that one gesture made it seem all the more worse... All I was wearing was an impoverished cloak that flowed over my naked body and I was also covered in dust and dirt from my previous fight. I felt like I was some kind of vagrant off of the streets who had been pitied by a higher class... Prime took his hand from my head only a moment after he spoke. I was both annoyed and frustrated with myself at the same time, yet I managed to hide that behind a very tired, grim, and regretful face.
"Don't look so disappointed..." Prime said in a derisible tone "We haven't even started yet"
I suddenly tensed up in anger at his words, inadvertently causing my body to pulse with pain again. I winced slightly and stumbled back, managing to catch myself before I could fall over. Whatever Prime had done to save me from death earlier had only healed me to the point that I could walk around without my wounds re-opening... I was still feeling an incredible amount of pain from the internal injuries that my body was fighting to heal. I held my stomach under my cloak, begging to lessen my agony.
"God..." I groaned in pain.
"You're still bitching about that?" Prime asked.
I didn't answer; I was holding my breath to help the pain. Prime sighed and rolled his eyes.
"Come with me" he suddenly ordered.
He turned around and jumped into the air, turning back around after he had climbed a few yards, looking down on me apparently waiting for me to follow. I didn't move partly because I wanted to stay still to subdue the pain, but also because I was irritated that he had actually had the nerve given me an order... I knew I gave up, but doing what he ordered seemed simpler in my head... My pride was practically screaming for me not to.
"Didn't you hear me?" He asked "I said move"
I sighed and gripped my stomach tighter in aggravation and anticipation for the pain to rise. I gritted my teeth and jumped into the air, a quick spike of pain flaring up when I began to fly. A quietly infuriating, heart-sinking effect came about me as I approached him... I almost felt like I had left a part of me behind... As soon as I reached Prime, he turned and continued on without speaking. I followed him, noticing that we were traveling at a slower rate then before. My guess was Prime was pleased at my choice and was being slightly more patient then usual, knowing that I was still in pain.
We traveled only a short distance to the central area of the colony, then we descended into the heart of this rustic, desolate forest. Sleekly, we weaved in and out of buildings for a few minutes; I half expected that Prime was intentionally leading me in circles to piss me off... But soon I was proven wrong. After only a few minutes more of dodging between ruins and gliding across empty, dusty streets, we came to a large opening in the surface which appeared to lead underground. I recognized it as a torn up mining tunnel whose ceiling had apparently caved in over time.
"That should work" Prime suddenly said.
With that, he dashed over to the opening and dove into it, continuing into the tunnels bellow and leaving my sight. I stayed where I was, just hanging in the air. I wasn't an idiot... and going into an enclosed space like a mining tunnel with Prime seemed like a stupid, horrible idea...
"Don't make me wait woman" his voice echoed from the hole.
I rolled my eyes, still half fighting the fact that I had given my word to do anything he said... Gently I dropped down into the crevice below me and looked around. The hole had led me into a three-way intersection of tunnels. Apart from the light that was streaming in from the opening above me, the paths where barely lit. I looked around to each lightless tunnel, seeing no sign of which path Prime had taken.
"Uh..." I moaned "Hello? Where did you-"
Suddenly a blast of phazon came shooting out of one of the entrances. I avoided it, letting it blow blast me and impact the wall it hit the ground beyond me. It wasn't a very powerful shot, but it was enough to cause some of the rock and metal to break away from the wall it impacted. I shielded eyes and face from the dust until it had passed.
"There is no such thing as subtle with him..." I said under my breath as I started down the path the beam had been fired from "I'd bettered get used to that..." I said grimly.
I left the surface's light behind me as I hovered above the tunnel floor. I had to keep one of my hands against the wall so I could tell where I was going. However, it didn't take to long for me to reach Prime. I found him a few yards into the darkness leaning against the side of the tunnel. A small flame-like form of phazon floated a couple of feet from him almost like a ghost, bathing a small area of the tunnel in an eerie blue light like a lantern. As I arrived, Prime looked at me for a moment, then turned around and began to walk deeper into the passage without a single word. And again, I followed, not wanting to loose sight of him or the light in a place like this.
"What the hell are we going down here for?" I questioned.
"You'll see" He answered.
"But-"
"Just be quiet and keep going" he ordered, cut me off.
I glared at him in anger and vexation. Even though I had agreed to do what he said, I was always rebellious toward my so-called "superiors"... At least the ones I didn't respect... As we silently traveled down the tunnel, I let my mind wonder. It was a joy to distract myself from what I had committed to. My thoughts traveled back to my days in the federation; not recent, but rather way back to the beginning...
This wasn't the first time that I was unhappy about being under supervision... When I was young, first joining the federation army, I had to go through all kinds of tests... The one that I hated the most was called the "guidance exercise." I basically had to follow a highly ranked individual around for a week acting as his guard. After the week was over, the individual I was assigned to would give a report on how well I did, meaning that he could pass or fail me on a whim. The man I was assigned to was an arrogant slob of a general that tried my patience to its limit... To put it simply, he made me serve him like a slave, making me do the most trivial of things that he was to lazy to do himself, threatening to fail me if I didn't... Needless to say I prayed that I never had to deal with something that tedious and annoying again... and to tell the truth I was experiencing the same aggravation and annoyance as I hovered behind Prime, keeping my mouth shut without question... The whole reason that I gave that life up and became a bounty hunter was because I never wanted to follow orders mindlessly... I wanted to make my own decisions and calls, not be at the beckoned call of whoever had a higher rank then me...
My thoughts continued to wonder toward all sorts of memories from all across my life. Recalling these was the best possible way for me to escape from my bothered thoughts. I didn't care if it was going to end soon, even a second would be preferable to nothing. However, much to my luck, I was able to think for a long time... I had no idea where we were going, but wherever it was, it was deep underground. Minutes passed and the oxygen level slowly suffered as we traveled lower and lower into the mines below the colony. I was breathing heavily as we traveled; the air wasn't dangerously thin, but it was slightly difficult to breath.
"We're here" Prime suddenly said.
I broke from my thoughts to see we had arrived in a large mining area; a widely spaced chamber that had been chipped away by hand and machine before the colony was destroyed... There was a small building close to where we had entered into this place; a break-room or something used by the workers that were once down here all day. Prime hovered up above the ground like me to get a better view and sent out the small light that had guided us on our way here. It nimbly traveled all around the chamber, casting quick glimpses wherever it neared like a searchlight. I was almost amazed by the pure size of the chamber as the little spark of light explored it. Prime's gaze was directed wherever the light went, like he was looking for something. Suddenly I realized something that nearly seemed stupid.
"You brought us down here and you don't know where to go?" I asked.
"This place will have what we need; I just need to find it"
I suddenly cringed as a shiver went up my spine.
"...Don't say 'we'..." I said, still annoyed that had agreed to this.
"You can accept that I own you anytime you know" He taunted "Or are you so overjoyed that you've gone full circle?"
I growled in annoyance. Prime uttered one faceless snicker and then he turned back to the empty room before us. He continued to study what the light touched for a moment, but stopped a moment later as if something caught his attention. The light stopped and backed up to an area it had passed over a second ago.
"There" he said pointing to the middle of the room where the light was.
Prime floated over to the area he had pointed out at a moment ago. Growing tired of keeping myself in the air, I touched down onto the ground and walked over to where Prime had stopped. It was almost the exact middle of the cavern. As I approached him I fully expected to see something out of the ordinary... But when I reached him, I found nothing... He had stopped in front of a pit; a simple hole that had been dug to mine. It was about 15 feet deep and was fairly wide; about 10 feet in diameter.
"A hole? You brought us down here to find a hole? Seriously?" I asked sarcastically.
"You haven't guessed why I brought you here?" Prime asked "Knowing you, I thought you would have come up with dozens of theories by now"
"This is ridiculous..." I said "What could you possible need to use this for?"
"Containment" He answered simply.
"For what?"
Aggressively a few of Prime's tentacles suddenly whipped down to the bottom of the shaft and all met in the middle, surging with energy. The entire place lit up with a bright blue light. I closed my eyes and looked away, the brightness almost blinding because my eyes had gotten used to the dark. After a few moments, the sounds of the accelerating energy died down and I suddenly felt some kind of murky, warm, humidity in the air. My eyes blinked open, my curiosity warning me that what I saw wasn't going to be good...
"...Oh my God" I said under my breath.
A huge pool of phazon had collected inside the pit; it had to be at least 10 feet deep! It was really disgusting to watch and it smelled so putrid that in made me gag... The scent even left a horrible taste in the back on my mouth. It was a self-circulation effervescent pile of blue sludge after all; I guess I should have expected it to be like this... I covered my mouth and nose to protect myself from the foul stench and the bad aftertaste it left. It was so bad I felt like it was burning my eyes...
"Jump in" Prime suddenly said.
I paused for a moment, almost unsure of what I had just heard him say... or rather, I didn't want to hear what he just said. I looked over at him, now more in shock then disgusted.
"You heard me" He said, apparently aware that I was unbelieving of his latest order.
After a second I realized he was completely serious.
"No" I said in the most firm, decided tone I could muster, quickly taking a few steps back and turning around to leave "A thousand times, NO! I don't care what you say, I'm never-"
Suddenly I felt Prime grip the back of my cloak.
"Oh no..." I said under my breath.
A second later, I was yanked and thrown back. I flipped in the air, and without any time to react, I plunged head first into the vat of phazon below me. The thick gel of the pool instantly surrounded me. Inadvertently, some got into my mouth. I instantly gagged at the flavor; it was so foul that I couldn't even explain it! As a reflex I opened my mouth to cough it out, but that only made it worse and took what little breath I still had away. Desperately and quickly I swam up and broke the surface of the pool.  I coughed up what I had swallowed and gasped for breath only to be suffocated by the horrible smell. Tears formed in my eyes because of the agonizing experience.
"What the hell!?" I yelled, still coughing out the foul mineral.
"Here's you first lesson" Prime said "Absorb energy from that pool you're soaking in"
"WHAT!?" I yelled.
"Just let it in" He said "Eat it, drink it, let it seep in through your skin, I don't care how you do it, just do it. It should heal you're injuries in the process"
"Can't you just heal me like you did before!?" I practically begged "This is the most disgusting-"
"I'm not going to baby you Samus" Prime said "Shut up and deal with it"
I was about to speak, but I was so distracted with anger and revulsion that I forgot to keep swimming to hold myself at the top of the pool. I dunked under for a second by accident, still in complete disgust about the chemical I was floating in. Even though this slop was incredibly thick, it seemed to suck me down as soon as I stopped fighting against it like something was grabbing me and pulling me under. I fought back to the top to see that Prime had left.
"Goddamn it!" I yelled slapping the surface of the pool with a hard splash "I'm getting out of here... I don't care what he says!"
I began to swim over to the side of the pool, a difficult task considering how thick this ore was... It was like swimming through glue; all my body was struggling to fight through it. The side of this pit was only a few feet away, yet it seemed so far; it was almost like I was being held in place. I didn't understand how it could suck me under so easily, yet at the same time be so difficult to travel through. I was gasping for breath and exhaling it just as fast, ironically begging for air so that I could get out of the suffocating musk that surrounded me. But the more my body worked, the harder it became. I felt like I was going to pass out.
Then, suddenly, I realized something... My wounds didn't hurt anymore! I was stressing all my muscles to go through this chemical and I didn't feel any pain! For a little while I still fought this ooze, but I gave up after a minute more, seeing that it seemed almost impossible... I stopped swimming to the edge and merely floated in the chemical. I was still strongly adverse to the smell; it was making me dizzy now and the strength of it didn't seem to waver. But I somehow found the ability to distract myself through it, as impossible as that sounded... What sidetracked me from this suffering was a question.
"Is this... really working?" I asked myself, now slightly lightheaded.
Seeing as there was seemingly no way out, I decided to feed my curiosity, rather then struggle against this pointlessly... I stayed as still as I could while still keeping myself afloat. I quieted every thought and shut out the world around me, concentrating solely on my body and nothing else. Then, I noticed something... I was getting a tiny, almost unnoticeable, abnormal feeling all throughout my body... Like small sparks going off all across my skin. But as I realized that this, I also took notice of one other thing... It seemed as if it could be going smoother then this... like something was blocking the flow of power to my body...
I suddenly recalled what Prime had said: "...Just let it in...". I pondered over this for a moment, and with my curiosity backing me, I decided to attempt something. I took a deep breath, trying to stay in my meditative state and flipped myself so that I was floating on my back on the surface; the pool held me buoyantly at the top, letting my muscles relax.  I closed my eyes and zoned out, ignoring everything but myself and now also the phazon surrounding me. I pictured myself in a tank of water, and slowly, I imagined that I was drawing that water into me...
Suddenly, I began to feel something more then the small sensation from earlier. A sudden burst of a mixture of feelings sprung up inside me. At first it was like needles plunging underneath my skin... A very short feeling of pain passed, then a moment of relief as my body relaxed once more.
"AH!" I called out inadvertently.
Suddenly a huge flow of feeling flooded into my body. Pain, pleasure, and flood of other feeling surged through me, some of which I couldn't even explain... My heart rate quickened as well as my breathing. For a moment I panicked; this feeling was overtaking me at such a fast rate that I worried that I couldn't control it... I tried to control my breathing as it became unstable and full of gasps and held cries. I began to thrash about in the pool, not really knowing how to react to the sensations I was feeling.
After a few moments of this I began to realize I was starting to loose control of myself. This sudden intake of phazon was so intense that my mind was already reeling with maddening fever-dreams. It became a vicious cycle; the more I took in, the faster my sanity left me, and the more unstable I became, them more phazon forced its way into my body! I felt like I was going to go mad after barely a minute of this... I was struggling to hold on, even biting my lip of tongue to remain sane.
Suddenly I inadvertently let out a huge surge of energy that radiated into the pool, causing phazon to jump from the surface as my power raged out of control. I already understood wasn't able to hold all the energy I was trying to take in. Sparks of miniature blue lightning skipped across the surface of the pool. Even the air radiated with the energy I couldn't contain. This was getting way to dangerous.
"Crap..." I said weakly.
Relying on a spit second of instinct from observing the release of energy around me, I did the only thing that I could. I chose to expel all the energy I had tried to absorb. In an instant, I reversed the process I had begun, throwing the energy I had taken in back into the pool. It flashed with a bright light for a second, then receded slightly. After a tense moment of silence, the pool suddenly expanded again, throwing some of its contents up into the air, raining down all over the cavern and back into the pool.
I closed my eyes breathed quickly, slowly becoming aware that I was slightly regaining control of myself. My body went limp, relaxing from the stress it had just endured. I let this happen, allowing my body to gently sink down for a moment, rather then stress myself after that... After a few minutes of rest, my entire body up to my chest had been coated in the liquid mineral. I opened my eyes and looked down at myself, half disgusted that I had let myself become immersed in this gung... Not wanted to go under again I tried to move my body and swim up to keep myself at the surface, but something was wrong... The consistency of the pool had changed; now it was so thick that I couldn't even move my arms! Beginning to panic again, I struggled to move, only able to shrug my shoulders as I tried to retrieve my arms. But as I was struggling, I noticed something that terrified me... It was still drawing me under, even though it had become so thick!
"What in the hell is this!?" I yelled.
The more I struggled, the more it seemed to pull; it was drawing me under like quicksand! I continued to struggle against the pull, but nothing I did worked! Soon the pool reached over my chest, then I felt it crawling up my neck; at this rate it was going to swallow me completely! I tilted my head up, trying to keep my mouth from going under. In only moments the liquid was surrounding me face. It slipped past my ears and flooded in like water, blocking out any and all sound except for the disgusting sound of the flowing liquid around me. As panic set in even more, I did the only think I could.
"Help!" I yelled "Get me out of here! I'll drown!"
I continually yelled out for help. From who, I didn't care; even Prime would be a welcomed sight... I was horrified; I was sure I was going to die! I continued to yell out as loudly as I could, unable to hear even my own cries for help. Now I could barely keep my face above it.
"Damn it!" I yelled.
I closed my eyes and took one final breath. The liquid covered my face, trapping me below the surface. I futilely attempted to flail about for a few more short moments before I finally gave up and accepted the inevitable... It couldn't do anything... And all my pointless struggling had used up what was left of my air. I painfully held it in for a few minutes, begged to be saved form this...
But after a few more moments, I couldn't hold it anymore... I exhaled and let out the last of my air, insuring my demise... involuntarily I gasped for air, inhaling the foul liquid that bound me. I felt it flood into my lungs and burn my throat. I continued to choke and gasp like someone who was drowning in water. I waited through the pain, knowing that it would end soon... My breathing slowed as the liquid flooded down my throat and filled my lungs. I didn't understand how though... This liquid was so odd... It was like it could change its viscosity to whatever it wanted.
The pain had left; my heart rate began to slow... I had drowned in the liquid I was dumped in... I slowly inhaled the fluid, waiting to black out and die of suffocation.  I waited... and waited... but after a moment, I was still awake.
"...What is going on?" I thought to myself.
I couldn't believe it, but I wasn't dying. My heart rate had indeed slowed down considerably, but after a certain point, it leveled out and stayed there without any further fluctuation. I didn't understand what was happening... this entire ordeal had made me incredibly light-headed; I almost felt like I was drunk. I struggled to maintain clear thoughts as my consciousness held by the thinnest of threads... However, this didn't worry me... Even though I was so out of it, I still found that it was such a weird feeling to survive without breathing...
"Is this how Prime feels?" I thought to myself "Maybe this is why he evolved without a mouth..."
After a moment of wading through clouded thoughts, I remembered something nearly akin to this feeling. I had experienced something similar to this before... suspended animation; something that I had went through far often then most. Usually it was like a short nap and a dream that you would be forced to undergo and then be awakened in what seemed like only an instantly later. It was usually a quick feeling of cold and then it was over. But this seemed vastly different. Instead of a quick moment, this seemed to last forever... and instead of cold, I was surrounded by and almost bodily form of warmth.
It's odd to explain, but for some reason this seemed almost relaxing... My mind began to wonder from me; it was kind of like a dream while I was still awake...  Slowly I began to loose track of time. Soon, I had no idea how long I had been in the pool and to tell the truth, I really didn't care... This was like a drug without a hangover... It was almost pleasant...
Time passed by without me knowing as I soaked in this pool, almost everything else around me being unintentionally drowned out. Then I was suddenly awakened by something. I felt something blunt jab against my back strong enough to rouse me. My eyes flickered open. I tired to breath but suddenly involuntarily coughed, rolling over onto my side and expelling what phazon was left in my lungs. A horribly bad taste was left in my mouth after I was finally able to take a staggered, waterlogged breath. I realized that I was lying in a small puddle of phazon as I expelled the last of the phazon from my lungs and gasped for air. It took me a minute to get my bearings; it was like I had just woken up from a dream.
"What the?" I said groggily, rubbing my eyes.
I looked behind me to find that the thing that had poked against my back was a blunt shard of rock at the bottom of the well. I slowly got up, slightly dizzy, finding that the pool had drained so much that the liquid barely overtook my ankles. I shook my head and rubbed my eyes as I woke up. Then, after I had finally gotten a hold of myself, I looked down and let out a small yelp. The cloak I was wearing was gone! I immediately covered myself with my hands, furious at what I had woken up to. My first thought was that Prime was trying to piss me off again like he did when I woke up last time.
"That bastard!" I said out loud "When I get my hands on him, I'll- I'll..."
Suddenly I noticed something. A little chunk of cloth on my shoulder... It was covered in patches of phazon. I looked at the opening above me and even jumped up to the top for a second to make sure Prime wasn't around. After I was sure that I was alone, I stopped covering myself and took the small piece of fabric off my shoulder. I held it in both hands, studying it. The phazon seemed like it was eating away at it like acid; small holes were forming through out it, slowly dissolving the fibers that held it together.
"Great..." I said sarcastically.
I threw the small scrap of fabric that was left into the puddle of phazon around my feet and watched as the piece dissolved like paper in fire. Again, I jumped to the rim on the well and looked around, once more making sure I was alone. After I was, I drifted up and out of the shaft and landed on the cold ground. I flexed my arms and legs for a second to find that my entire body had been fully healed; all my injuries had left me. In fact, I felt stronger then I did before! However, that wasn't the matter on my mind at the moment. I began to look around this area for something I could use to cover myself; there was no way in hell I was going back to the surface to look...
The phazon that I had spread across the tunnel when I expelled my excess energy had coated it in small glowing blotches, giving the chamber at lease some visibility. My gaze immediately turned to the small facility near to the exit Prime and I had come in from. I dashed over to it. I was annoyed when I reached it to see that the door had lost power. I looked over to the side of it where the control panel was located. For a moment I cursed the fact that I couldn't use my suit to simple scan for a conduit and then use a beam to power it up... But then I had an idea... I placed my hand over it, trying something that I wasn't sure would work. I sent a very small discharge of phazonic energy into the control panel, hoping to energize it. After all my earlier idea worked and that was just a shot in the dark, so why wouldn't this?
Then, to my great surprise not only did it work and reactivate the door, but the moment the door slid open, lights within the shack came on as well!
"Thank you" I said out loud, grateful that my idea had worked.
I walked into the door, shutting it behind me. I breathed a sigh of relief that Prime hadn't shown up. Almost instantly, I spotted some suits hanging in the corner of the room; some had fallen to the floor, lying in a wrinkled pile, but most were still hanging just as they had been left years and years ago. I walked over and picked one up, looking it over.
They were standard issue uniforms; made cheaply, but well enough to be used. And although they had aged slightly, they were still in decent condition. Without another thought, I whipped the dust from one of the suits and slipped it on, happier then I had been in days to find suitable clothing. However, other then that, there was little here... Nothing but dust covered tables, some of which had been knocked over and the last few flickering light bulbs that looked like they were ready to give at any moment. So, finding nothing else of worth here, I turned and went back to the door.
As I passed through it and stepped back onto the chamber grounds, the door suddenly shut behind me and lost power soon after, shutting down once again. I sighed as I looked back upon the dimly light chamber...
"Great..." I said to myself "I guess there's only one thing left to do..."
I sighed out of annoyance... I knew that all I could do now was go back to Prime and start what "training" he had lined up for me; I couldn't stay down here forever... Even though the notion of remaining here sounded better then my other option...
"I know I'm not going to like this..." I said to myself as I started to walk to the tunnel that led out of here and back to the surface.
As I began down the tunnel I formed a small ball of phazon to light my way while the weak light of the chamber faded and left. I didn't have much on my mind as I wondered down the mine; most of my worries and annoyances had softened or faded away after my time recuperating. It didn't take long for me to find the collapsed area that led back to the surface. I stopped just before I passed into the light pouring in from above, knowing that Prime would be waiting for me. I took a few more steps into the light and then jumped up through the opening, landing on the dusty, deserted ground.
I noticed that the sky hadn't changed much since I went underground, so unless I had been there for more then a day, then not much time had passed since I recovered. I looked around, expecting to see Prime right in plain sight waiting for me, probably with an impatient look on his face. But he wasn't anywhere to be found... It was way to quiet... Especially with him somewhere near. Just like before, my guard went up and a familiar sensation rose within me. It was just like when I first arrived at the colony. My surroundings suddenly became much more distinct. And although I didn't become paranoid like I had the first time this happened, I still caught distinctions that I never did before. Suddenly something called out to me from beyond my normal senses. It was like a beacon going off in my head. Whatever I was sensing was just a few dozen yards away beyond a ruined building. I grinned.
"Found you" I chimed.
Without thinking, I thrust my hand forward, firing a huge beam of phazon. I apparently didn't know my own strength at this point; when I fired the beam, the push of it almost knocked me over! The beam I fired rushed strait to the point I had sensed, shooting through the building that lie between me and my target, causing the entire complex to implode at its base and fall in on itself. A huge cloud of dust and shrapnel exploded into the air as it collapsed. I stood my ground and let the wave of dust wash over me, waiting for it. And sure enough, only a moment after the explosion began to subside, a small object flew out of the cloud.
A moment later, the object spiked back toward me, jetting to the place where I stood. It slammed into the ground about 10 feet in front of me.
"Miss me?" A voice called.
As he spoke, the cloud of dust was caught and stolen by the wind. Prime stood in a small dent in the earth from his landing.
"Did you enjoy yourself?" He asked teasingly, apparently ignoring that I had just attacked him "Those clothes look good on you"
"Was it really necessary to dump me underground like that?" I asked "You could have done the same thing here on the surface"
"Yeah, I could have..." He said "But it wouldn't have hidden you while you recharged"
"Hidden?"
"I keep the bargains I make Samus" He said "I promised to train you and give you refuge from the federation"
"So you stuffed me into a hole to keep me under the radar?"
"It sounds so childish and simple when you say it like that..." He said tauntingly "Liquid phazon in it's purest form can be easily tracked by long range scanners; however, after it's been absorbed it's controlled and contained, rendering it invisible to most trackers unless you get up close" Prime explained "But 100 feet of metal and earth can block just about anything"
I grunted slightly, a little surprised that Prime had put that much thought into this.
"...Well, that and I know that you would have bitched to me non-stop if you ended up naked out in the open" He added.
"I knew you knew it would do that" I said, slightly aggravated.
I took in and exhaled a deep breath, not wanting to get worked up over something that was probably going to happen often; if I was going to live with him, I couldn't let his teasing get to me constantly. At any rate, I guess that I should have been grateful that he was this polite in the first place, even if only a little.
"So what's next?" I asked, changing the subject.
Prime uttered a hiss of held back laughter, as if he was overjoyed at what was coming.
"I'm glad you asked" he said in a playfully devious tone.
Now I was positive that I wasn't going to like this... Anything Prime found enjoyable in was either painful or humiliating for me.
"Just get it over with" I demanded "What is it? What do you want me to do?"
A sly look came onto his face.
"For now, I won't order you to do anything" He answered.
"What?" I asked, surprised.
"You see, Samus I think you'd learn better by personal discovery, rather then me giving you all the answers; that's how you figured out to fly, shoot beams, and apparently use your sixth sense... Besides it's much more fun that way" He explained "So, except for more advance techniques, you'll learn new things from experience"
"Experience from what?"
Prime suddenly bent down slightly, bending one knee and stretching the other back on the ground as he placed his hand in front of him. He was positioning himself like a track runner to dash. He looked back up at me as phazon began to radiate from him.
"Ready for round two?"

To Be Continued...
Okay everybody, I'm back with new stuff! Sorry it took me so long, I had to plan out a new story line and this ch just kept on growing after I started it! This is a small mini-series that begins after Corruption of Heart Ch 25 pt 1: [link] and pt 2: [link]

I thought of this a while back, so i thought I'd give it a try. The main CoH story will continue after this series is complete.

Also, sorry if the story in the middle sound kind of corny; I've been playing Metroid: Other M, and it has a lot of little stories about Samus' past, so I thought I try to make a small one up. Also, sorry if the name sounds simple; the only other titles I could think of sounded kinda bad...
